Developing Shooters “From The Ground Up”

In this camp the worlds of athletic and shooting development merge presenting a combined approach to improve modern shooters.

Players will experience how to develop their shooting “from the ground up” by:

• developing better full-body coordination and rhythm that leads to powerful energy transfer from feet to follow-through

balancing, grounding and refining subtle shooting details

• shooting games that deal with in-game physical and behavioural pressures

Fall in Love with The Art of Shooting

We believe that shooting practices should be fun and competitive so there’s a higher chance players fall in love with the art of shooting.

Shooting is often taught in such a technical way that players feel nervous and judged while learning.

In this collaboration we focus on cultivating the athletic, technical and mental foundation for long-term shooting improvement.

We complement and integrate technical work with physical games, movement habits and balance exercises.

This approach was born out of the observation of certain ‘grey zones’ in youth to professional shooters development that are often left untouched by coaches.

Players will learn

• Shooters warm-ups that supports one body motion of feet - ball - body

• Shooting off a wide diversity footwork situations: on the catch and off the dribble

• Shooters Form practices: on the spot, free throws, pick ups, rhythm, balance, dribble

moves, etc.

Decision-making and pressured shooting games

Lowering pressure in shooting performance: relaxation techniques, free throw routines and visualisation tools to move past fear of failure and shooting slumps

Shooting is long-term craftsmanship that players can start to love when the learning environment is made playful and engaging.

That’s why we approach shooters development from a wide variety of practical angles that you can play with in creating your practice plans.

Developing Shooters From The Ground Up can be organised as a players camp and/or coaches workshop.
